LOTS OF NEW FACES AT ACEEE AS STAFF CONTINUES TO GROW & PROSPER

We continue to enjoy our new home in the National Press Building, especially because we have room to grow! ACEEE has welcomed five new staff members since the beginning of 2009, bringing our staff size to 40 (including part-time staff).

Joining us in recent weeks have been Chris Knight, Research Assistant for the Economic and Social Analysis Program, Rachel Gold, Assistant to the Directors, Michael Sciortino, Program Assistant for State Policy, Nate Kaufman, Program Assistant for the Industry and Agriculture Program, and Siddiq Khan, Engineering Research Associate with the Transportation Program.

In addition, we are pleased to announce a staff promotion. Karen Ehrhardt-Martinez has been promoted to Research Associate II in the Economic and Social Analysis Program.

Visiting Associates from Singapore!

ACEEE is honored to host two Visiting Associates from Singapore during the first half of 2009 who will collaborate with ACEEE staff in areas of shared interest. Wilson Lin, Assistant Director (Climate Change) from the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources of Singapore, joined ACEEE in mid-January for three months. Wilson's background includes a MS in Mechanical Engineering from Berkeley. He is currently working on emerging HVAC technologies and on market transformation (MT) for advanced energy recovery ventilation systems. In the spring, Wilson will be joined by Ms. Tan Li Yen, Executive Engineer from the National Environment Agency of Singapore, who will be working with our State Clean Energy Program (SCERP) for three months on analyses of energy efficiency potential. Wilson is already contributing greatly to our work, and both expect to carry home ACEEE's approaches to their opportunities. As space and time allow, ACEEE hopes to continue cooperative projects with international groups.
