The ideal candidate will have a degree in mechanical engineering or related field and a strong grasp of engineering fundamentals. Applicants with 2 to 4 years of experience including a PE License will have the highest priority. Applicant should have strong technical writing abilities and a solid foundation with standard word processing and spreadsheet applications. Strong oral and team communication abilities are a must for this position. Familiarity with HVAC, lighting and data logging equipment is a plus. Database and programming skills are helpful, but not required. The individual should be self-motivated.
Job activities include on-site surveys, short-term monitoring, building energy simulation, research, evaluation of energy efficiency measures and report writing. The position will also involve some technical writing, data analysis and assisting with project management. The individual will work on utility energy efficiency programs, measurement and verification activities, market research studies, and variety of other technology related research studies.
