New Edition of ACEEE Book Updates Motor Systems Savings

World Bank Finalizes Landmark Energy Efficiency Loan for Brazil

Washington, D.C. — The World Bank and the government of Brazil signed a landmark $43 million energy efficiency loan on December 5, 2000. The loan is accompanied by a $15 million grant from the Global Environmental Facility. The loan and grant will be matched with $67 million in local funding for a total of $125 million to be devoted to electricity conservation efforts in Brazil over four years.
