WASHINGTON, D.C. — Improvements in motor systems and management can yield significant energy savings, up to 42 percent, according to a recently revised ACEEE reference manual. The book, Energy-Efficient Motor Systems: A Handbook on Technology, Program, and Policy Opportunities, was released today by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).
Washington, D.C. — The World Bank and the government of Brazil signed a landmark $43 million energy efficiency loan on December 5, 2000. The loan is accompanied by a $15 million grant from the Global Environmental Facility. The loan and grant will be matched with $67 million in local funding for a total of $125 million to be devoted to electricity conservation efforts in Brazil over four years.
