2004 ACEEE Informal Sessions Descriptions

Additional Informal Sessions may be organized on-site during the Summer Study. Visit the office in Surf and Sand to sign up for an Informal Session.

Session Synopsis - "HUD-Code Manufactured Housing: Accomplishments & Challenges"

Michael Lubliner, WSU Energy Program

Tuesday, August 24
2:00 PM - 4:00 PM

This informal session complements the Panel 1 formal session #4 "Manufactured Housing - HUD Code". Stakeholder brainstorming will focus on energy efficiency and affordable housing policies of states, feds and utilities. Over 20% of all new single-family housing are factory built to HUD-code. Over half of those are built with electric resistance heating and AC cooling. Energy efficiency improvements recently proposed to HUD are less stringent than site built homes.
