ENERGY STAR for Solid State Lighting

The first ever ENERGY STAR criteria for SSL products will take effect Sep 30, 2008. This session will provide an overview of the ENERGY STAR requirements for SSL products, including overall approach and assumptions, key technical requirements, and measurement methods. A brief recap from the May 15 ENERGY STAR SSL stakeholder workshop will be provided, including details on the product qualification process, testing requirements, quality assurance process, and tools and resources for manufacturers and program sponsors. The session will also cover how the ENERGY STAR SSL criteria will change over time to keep pace with rapid SSL technology improvements, including expansion of Category A products and the schedule for ratcheting efficiency targets.
