The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) would like to thank all of the organizers and attendees for making the 13th annual National Symposium on Market Transformation another memorable success. The Symposium was held March 29–31, 2009 (Sunday evening–Tuesday afternoon) at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.
Every year the Symposium brings together a diverse audience to network, compare programs, learn about new MT approaches, and discuss the latest issues. This year's program focused on "The Changing Face of Market Transformation." We explored the many ways that market transformation is evolving to meet the opportunities and challenges emerging with changes in the politics and economics of energy efficiency, economic uncertainty, increased consumer awareness, and a growing number of market players.
For the first time at the Symposium we offered a session entitled "MT101," an introductory course for those new to the field who wanted to learn the fundamentals of Market Transformation. This special session was held Sunday, March 29th from 1:00 pm–5:00 pm. It was available to the first 50 people who signed up and was targeted specifically to those unfamiliar with Market Transformation who wanted to learn more about this important topic. The session was offered free of charge with full or one-day conference registration.
