Analysis of Impacts of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy on Natural Gas Markets

The Energy Foundation (EF) commissioned ACEEE, assisted by Energy and Environmental Analysis, Inc., to determine whether efficiency and renewables would produce significant price reductions by reducing demand for natural gas. Analysis by ACEEE shows that energy efficiency and renewable energy can reduce natural gas prices and price volatility. The price effects of aggressive, readily achievable efficiency programs and renewable energy resources in the lower 48 states were examined. ACEEE continues to analyze the role of energy efficiency on natural gas markets.
