C.G.S. Section 16a-48, Chapter 298, Energy Efficiency Standards

Summary: In 2004 Connecticut General Statute 16a-48 was passed establishing energy efficiency standards that covered eight products, under jurisdiction of the Connecticut Office of Policy and Management and the Department of Public Utility Control.  Standards for five of the eight products were preempted by the federal standards included in the Energy Policy Act of 2005.  Standards for an additional eight products were added in 2007, although three were preempted by the passing of the Federal Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007.
