ACEEE JOB OPENING: PUBLICATIONS COORDINATOR


Job opening: ACEEE Publications Coordinator (part-time)

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) is the preeminent national non-governmental organization in the field of energy efficiency research and policy development. ACEEE publishes a number of materials, from consumer information to technical reports. We are currently seeking to fill the position of a part-time Publications Coordinator to manage all aspects our publications fulfillment, customer service and other communications projects.

The responsibilities and assignments for this position will depend somewhat on the qualifications and experience of the candidate selected. General responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • general publications office management (maintaining supplies, stock, and the publications database)
  • publications fulfillment (process orders through the internal database, pack and ship orders to customers, monitor stock and produce month- and year-end reports, and additional reports as needed)
  • manage the publications aspects of the web site, assisting with press release and publications postings, shopping cart management and upgrades, etc.
  • act as clearinghouse for requests relating to permissions and copyrights, including charging fees where appropriate
  • promotional tasks, including assisting at ACEEE conferences and other events
  • other communications-related tasks as time and interests allow

Additional Qualifications: We seek candidates with an interest in working for a small (30 full-time staff) environmental nonprofit, with excellent written and verbal communications skills, and the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities. Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite is required, and prior work experience with database management/data entry strongly preferred. Experience with Dreamweaver or other HTML software is a plus; however candidates without experience who have an interest in learning are also encouraged to apply. Applicants should share ACEEE’s core values, including a strong interest and commitment to energy efficiency as a path to environmental protection and economic prosperity.

Other: The ideal candidate is someone with an administrative background or a recent graduate interested in working for a good cause, with the desire to learn new software and tackle projects that promote ACEEE’s mission. The position could become full-time with the right candidate.

Position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found. A summer start date is essential; however, we are willing to create a flexible day-to-day work schedule. The work location for this position is Washington, D.C. Salary is commensurate with experience.
