UA 290 Tour and Heat Pump Water Heater Equipment Demonstration | March 3 (12:00 – 5:00 p.m.)
The Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) and United Association (UA) Local 290 hosted a heat pump water heater plumbing technologies demonstration and training prior to the 2025 ACEEE Hot Water Forum. Attendees arrived a day early to interact with plumbers and apprentices and saw the latest technologies in action at UA 290’s training facility.
Manufacturers kindly provided heat pump water heaters, circulators, and a drain water heat recovery system, while NEEA and UA 290 provided installation training and hosted an Installation Rodeo in which apprentices and journeyman plumbers competed to install the equipment from start to finish. Participants saw the results and learned about their experiences at this unique event. This experience was available as an add-on during conference registration.
