This position is located in the Green Building & Climate Branch within the Urban Sustainability Administration at the District of Columbia Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE). The incumbent will support a vairety of initiates to advance green building in Washington, DC including coordination within the agency, across related District agencies, and with community partners to advance policy and programs on behalf of the city in support of the Sustainable DC, Clean Energy DC, and Climate Ready DC plans.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary responsibility for drafting the District’s annual Green Building Report, including data tracking and analytics; Primary responsibility for coordinating DOEE’s participation in the development review process, including providing technical assistance to projects seeking to achieve high levels of sustainability and recommending policy changes to the District’s zoning code and other key land use policies; Assist in the coordination of the District’s Green Building Fund grant program and facilitation of the Green Building Advisory Council; Assist in the engagement of the public and regulated community in development of new green building and climate change policies, plans, and programs; Coordinate with District agencies including OP, DCRA, DGS, and DDOT on green building projects and programs.
