The Clean Energy Buyer’s Association (CEBA) works to solve the toughest market and policy barriers and deploy solutions for energy customers to pursue clean energy and decarbonize grids. CEBA launched Global Programs in 2023 to accelerate clean energy procurement to achieve our mission of low-cost, reliable, carbon emissions free global energy systems. This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of a growing team that is actively expanding a global portfolio of projects and programs to deliver on these goals.

We are seeking an Associate to join CEBA’s Global Programs team to support the rapid expansion and maximize the impact of the Clean Energy Procurement Academy (The Academy).  The Academy is a comprehensive clean energy procurement education program focused on training supply chain companies in priority countries in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region to develop and execute clean energy transactions that will help companies decarbonize their supply chains, and some of the most carbon intensive power grids in the world.

The Associate will support the development, execution, and evaluation of the Academy’s virtual and in-person customer training programs and the expansion of the Academy to new markets in APAC. The Associate will report to a Director who oversees the program and will work closely with multiple CEBA teams involved in different parts of the work such as Global Policy and Markets, Corporate Communications, Development, and Finance and Operations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Research & Analysis: provide research and analysis on key issues related to corporate clean energy procurement and support the development of Academy resources, including corporate clean energy playbooks, reports, presentations, etc. 
  • Program Development & Expansion: Support the development of Academy strategic planning by providing input on market priorities, potential for impact, revenue diversification, member and partner expansion, etc. Support fundraising efforts for Academy financial sustainability and continued growth.
  • Program Execution: Develop webinars, industry events, and other sessions to share Academy insights and promote Academy awareness. Support the planning and execution of other Academy activities such as in person and digital clean energy customer training programs within established project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Program Communications: Liaise with internal teams (e.g. Corporate Communications, Global Policy and Markets, etc.) to develop and/or refine written updates for newsletters, presentations for members and Board of Directors, and engaging content for website and social media to convey the scope and impact of the Academy on a regular basis.
  • Program Reporting and Evaluation: Support the monitoring and evaluation of the training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics in collaboration with Academy team colleagues. Track progress and identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance the program's impact and effectiveness.
  • Partner Collaboration: Support relationship management with steering committee, implementing partners, and other stakeholders in multiple countries to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree and 5+ years of experience or master’s degree and at least 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience: demonstrated experience in and knowledge of clean energy policy, programs, and markets. 
  • Results driver: exceptional organizational, task management and prioritization skills and ability to execute and deliver on tasks and project responsibilities amidst multiple competing deadlines.  Driven by impact and organizational success.
  • Critical thinker: ability to identify, analyze, dissect, and explain complex problems, and apply analyses, models, and structures to develop and propose effective solutions.  
  • Impactful communicator: excellent cross-cultural competency and communication skills, including the ability to listen actively and effectively, and present key points clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing to different stakeholders. Able to lead and facilitate group discussions effectively within and outside the organization.  
  • Team partner: a “connector” who can work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment, build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, identify risks and challenges, and proactively solicit/provide constructive feedback and support.
  • Change champion: demonstrate initiative to improve processes and solutions with peers. Willingness to support new initiatives, flexibility to adjust priorities when new information is presented, and capacity to handle unexpected challenges in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Software Skills: advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite; understanding of and experience with project management tools (ex. Monday.com) and other software platforms to design and execute program activities.  
  • Vision and Mission aligned: shared passion for CEBA’s mission, ambition, and core values of Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE). 
  • Eligible to work in the United States. 

Desired and/or Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience in corporate sustainability and/or clean energy, in the APAC region.  
  • Experience in the development and scaling of training programs, educational platforms, or other sustainability initiatives.
  • Experience in the development and delivery of resources, tools, and platforms to provide guidance for organizations seeking to procure clean energy.

Physical Demands: 

  • Participating in late night or early morning meetings with members and partners located in the Asia-Pacific
  • Domestic and potential international travel (up to 10%)

Compensation

  • $75,000-$90,000
