Energy Project Engineer

Are you a technically minded person with experience in energy efficiency or manufacturing? Do you enjoy interacting with customers and using your interpersonal skills? Then look no further! We are hiring a full-time Energy Project Engineer to join our growing team serving the Energy Trust of Oregon. Applicant should reside in the Greater Roseburg area and be able to work from home while traveling locally.

What you'll do:

The Energy Project Engineer reaches out to and works with industrial customers to identify projects to reduce energy usage, quantify energy savings, and provide Energy Trust of Oregon incentives. Industrial customers include both large and small industrial sites such as sawmills, food processors, and manufacturing facilities, and may include WMBE- and veteran-owned businesses. You will:

  • Administer Energy Trust’s industrial energy efficiency incentive program. 
  • Reach out to industrial customers to increase engagement in Energy Trust offerings.
  • Engage customers in the regional industrial community; represent Energy Trust at local events.
  • Work with industrial customers to scope and develop energy efficiency projects.
  • Connect with regional vendors and contractors to help communicate needs of customer energy projects.
  • Perform energy engineering/energy analysis on industrial systems.
  • Conduct on-site measurement and verification of energy projects.
  • Write technical reports for non-technical audiences.
  • Provide excellent customer service.

You're a great fit if you have many of these skills and qualities:

  • Engineering degree and/or experience in energy efficiency industry or mechanical/manufacturing/industrial engineering.
  • Experience analyzing energy systems and quantifying annual energy savings.
  • Working knowledge of commercial and industrial mechanical systems and building science.
  • Ability to engage in proactive outreach, problem-solving, collaboration and interaction with customers, vendors, and the client.
  • A high-energy self-starter with excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Outgoing personality comfortable making new connections and adapting to dynamic settings.
  • Able to work autonomously, with good project and time management skills.
  • Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Familiar with Douglas and Coos counties. Willing to make day trips to client sites in these counties 2-3 days per week, with occasional trips to outlying counties.

Compensation and Benefits: $77,000-$125,000 annually, depending on experience. SBW provides its employees a professional, collaborative, and family-friendly work environment, including flexible schedule and remote work support. Our comprehensive benefits package includes a competitive salary, a health care plan, an annual performance bonus, generous paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with employer matching.
