PDFs are not opening in Acrobat Reader.
Internet Explorer, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari now have their own built in PDF viewers. For the best user experience it is recommended to change your browser settings to use Adobe Acrobat viewer.
Follow this link http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/display-pdf-browser-acrobat-xi.html to change the setting for your specific browser.
Why does it take so long to search?
- Files are on physical media
If this product is on a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or flash drive, the search may be slower due to the speed of the media.
- Number of search results returned
The more specific your search terms, the fewer documents will need to be displayed.
I never get any search results.
For the search engine to work, there are several requirements:
- JavaScript enabled
How do I enable JavaScript?
- A compatible web browser
- Windows: Internet Explorer 8 or newer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
- Macintosh: Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox
There is a possible bug in Safari that may cause links on the page to stop working after a search is performed.
- UNIX/Linux: A Mozilla-based browser
- Enough free computer memory
If this product is on a CD-ROM, DVD-ROM or flash drive, your computer handles all the search processing. Searching large document collections can in some cases fail under low memory conditions.
If you meet all these requirements and still do not get search results, the cause might be one or more of the following:
- For Internet Explorer on Windows, this is most likely because you are not the administrator of your PC. See "I can't get the search to work" below.
- If you have an older computer, it may take several seconds to display search results. Try waiting for at least a minute.

Windows may have security restrictions
Your IT department may have implemented security measures that can interfere with the search engine when running under a non-administrator account. Have someone who is the administrator for your PC try the following:
- Quit out of all open Internet Explorer windows.
- From the Windows menu, select All Programs.
- Right-click "Internet Explorer" in the program list and select Run as administrator. Enter your administrator name and password.
- Type ctrl-o to bring up the Open dialog box, and click Browse.... Find the "Start.htm" file on the product (or other main HTML file at the root of the product) and open it in the current Internet Explorer window.
- Try to perform a search on the product. Your search should return results as expected.
