This report analyzes options for residential and commercial building energy codes for Illinois. It examines the cost-effectiveness of national consensus standards and variations upon these standards given current construction practices, climate and energy costs. The appendix contains the proposed code language, which combines a residential code published by CABO with a commercial code published by ASHRAE.
