This report reviews how industrial firms make decisions about investments relating to energy use, explores trends in utilization of existing manufacturing capacity at the time of its writing, and projects what the investment trends are likely to be in coming years. Based on this review, the authors provide guidance to energy efficiency program managers on how to position their program offering to capture energy efficiency opportunities in manufacturing.
