In 2007 ACEEE conducted its second national review of exemplary energy efficiency programs. This project sought to recognize and profile outstanding utility-sector energy efficiency programs that help customers lower their energy costs and reduce their energy use through improved energy efficiency. An expert panel selected a total of 90 programs across 20 different program categories to be recognized from a large set of nominations received. This report describes the review and selection of these programs, as well as drawing out overall observations on characteristics of exemplary programs. Bridging the Equity Gap for Utility Energy Efficiency Programs
Utility energy efficiency programs have increased investment in low-income households, but significant gaps remain. This report examines spending and savings trends across 48 major U.S. utilities, identifies barriers to expanding low-income programs and highlights policies and program strategies that can improve energy affordability and equitable access to efficiency upgrades.
