Programs that integrate energy efficiency and demand response (EE/DR) can yield multiple benefits. Not only can they fully capture these two value streams, but they offer a streamlined customer experience, greater grid flexibility, and more efficient administration. Despite these benefits, few such programs currently exist. This report reviews filings from 44 of the largest utilities in the country to identify and describe existing EE/DR programs. We conclude by examining barriers to more prevalent EE/DR and make recommendations for overcoming them.
