An examination of the potential for electricity savings and peak demand reduction in New York is contained in this in-depth study. Included are: analysis of electricity end use by sector and building type; estimates of the electricity and peak demand savings and costs for 62 conservation and load management measures; cost-effectiveness of each measure from consumer, utility and society perspectives; and conservation supply curves. The study was prepared for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority.
