Lowell Ungar testified to the Subcommittee on Energy of the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce in support of three energy efficiency bills. His testimony focused on the Energy Savings and Industrial Competitiveness Act (Portman-Shaheen/Welch-McKinley), and included a new ACEEE analysis finding that key provisions would save $51 billion net after investments, 32 quadrillion Btu of energy, and 1.3 billion metric tons of carbon dioxide, about as much emissions as from all cars and light trucks in a year (cumulative savings for the life of measures through 2050). Ungar’s testimony also supported the Federal Energy and Water Management Performance Act and the Ceiling Fan Improvement Act.
