ACEEE submitted comments in response to California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Workshop on Building Embodied Carbon that was held in September 2024. ACEEE provided feedback on the barriers and potential solutions to generating and collecting environmental product declarations (EPDs). The submitted comments highlight the importance of whole building lifecycle analysis and refers to our proposed framework for evaluating new and emerging technologies that reduce embodied carbon.
