This paper summarizes work in the U.S. and Canada promoting lighting efficiency including education, demonstration, technical assistance, utility, testing, labeling building code, and equipment efficiency standard efforts. It also estimates the technical potential for lighting efficiency improvements and the amount of savings that can be achieved through aggressive programs and policies. Prepared for the "Right Light, Bright Light" conference in Stockholm, Sweden.
