Updated March 2019. Federal energy efficiency programs have played a key role in reducing energy use and saving consumers hundreds of billions of dollars a year in energy bills. But, like many other federal efforts, these programs have come under budgetary attack. This series of fact sheets estimates some of the impacts of seven selected programs, both what they are saving now and what would be lost if the attacks succeed.
