This report shows how India can reduce capital requirements by reallocating some funds from new power plants to efficiency investments. It examines end-use electricity consumption patterns, the current status and economics of different energy-saving technologies, barriers to adoption of efficiency measures, existing energy efficiency programs, and policy recommendations.
